Solution-
Let the first whole number $=x$
Then, second number $=x+1$
According to question, $\quad x+x+1=35$
$\begin{aligned} \text { or, } & 2 x+1=35 \\ \text { or, } & 2 x=35-1=34 \end{aligned}$
or, $x=\frac{34}{2}=17$
$\therefore$ One number $=17$; other number $=17+1=18$
