The area of a triangle is $50 \mathrm{~m}^{2}$. . If its altitude is 8 cm , then find its base.

Solution:

Here area of triangle $=50 \mathrm{~m}^{2}=50 \times 100 \times 100 \mathrm{~cm}^{2}$

Height $=8 \mathrm{~cm}$

Base of triangle $=\frac{2 \times \text { area }}{\text { height }}=\frac{2 \times 50 \times 100 \times 100}{8} \mathrm{~cm}$

$$=125000 \mathrm{~cm}=1250 \mathrm{~m}$$
