Oceanic Energy : This is an important source of rechargeable energy. Oceanic energy is obtained from the ocean in two forms.

  1. Tidal Energy and
  2. Thermo-oceanic energy.

Tidal Energy : Due to the gravitational force of the sun and the moon, there occurs a cyclic rise and fall of the sea level know as Tide.

In places where the minimum height the tide is 5-6 meters, electricity can be produced through turbines by building dams.

Thermo-Oceanic Energy : Energy can be obtained from waves, for waves have kinetic energy.

The difference of temperature between surface and deeper level of the ocean can also be used for energy exploitation.

The temperature of surface of the ocean is 20°C-25°C whereas the temperature at a deeper level is 4°C-8°C.
