Differences between $\gamma$-rays and $x$-rays —

  • $\gamma$-rays are the uncharged rays, emitted from a radioactive element, where as $x$-rays are produced by the bombardment of cathode rays on the anticathode.
  • The wavelengths of $\gamma$-rays are 10-10 to 10-12 cm; whereas that of $x$-rays are 1 to 3Å.
  • $\gamma$-rays have negligible ionizing power, but X-rays have more ionizing power.
