Average Angular Acceleration:— Let $\omega_{1}$ and $\omega_{2}$ be the instantaneous angular speeds at times $t_{1}$ and $t_{2}$ respectively, then the average angular acceleration $\alpha_{\mathrm{av}}$ is defined as

$\vec{\alpha}_{\mathrm{av}}=\frac{\vec{\omega}_{2}-\vec{\omega}_{1}}{t_{2}-t_{1}}=\frac{\Delta \vec{\omega}}{\Delta t}$
