Explain through an example, how the burden of an Indirect Tax is shifted?

Sales Tax is an Indirect Tax. A shopkeeper pays sales tax to the Government. But, the shopkeeper recovers this tax from the customers as a part of price of the commodity sold. So, impact of sales tax (an indirect tax) is ultimately shifted to the consumers.
